Project Coordinator (Residential Construction)
Location: McLean, VA Metro (DMV) -- In-Person role
After years of collaboration, co-founders Josh Snyder and Alex Galeas united to create DwellBuild, a full-service general contractor with 50+ years combined experience and 500+ projects delivered. We partner with clients across the DMV on renovations and new homes, known for straight talk, a transparent process, and results.
Our Values (how we work)
- Accountability -- Own outcomes; elevate teammates; no substandard performance.
- Communication -- Radical truth and transparency; open minds and efficient info flow.
- Family Culture -- Strong relationships that pull us through challenges and bring out our best.
- Constant Improvement -- Fail forward; small daily changes that compound into excellence.
The Project Coordinator is the connector between Sales and Production. You'll help develop and price scopes after projects are won, assemble complete job setups (drawings, specs, selections, permits), and support Production through kickoff and execution. On larger or more complex projects, you'll act as a client liaison to keep communication crisp and decisions moving.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Sales, clients, and designers to develop complete scopes; assist with proposal creation and smaller pre-sale selections.
- Track construction drawings and permits; maintain organized project files (contracts, change orders, specs, submittals, logs).
- Collaborate with Sales on budgets; solicit/level bids (RFPs), compile pricing into client-ready proposals.
- Help build/maintain project schedules; prepare progress updates and basic financial trackers.
- Create/manage complex change orders, documentation, pricing requests, and approvals.
- Attend site meetings as needed; ensure all information, selections, and clarifications are complete before job start; answer pre-start questions from the field.
- Assist in SOP creation; occasional social posts/videos to highlight project milestones.
Qualifications
- Clear communicator (written & verbal) with clients, vendors, subs, and internal teams.
- Construction literacy: ability to read plans; working knowledge of residential remodeling methods, materials, and sequencing.
- Experience coordinating in remodeling, GC, or closely related fields (real estate/design/build).
- Client-facing polish and comfort with sophisticated homeowners.
- Tech capable: Google Workspace (Gmail/Drive/Docs/Sheets); willing to learn JobTread or similar project platforms.
- Organized, accountable, autonomous; able to anticipate next steps and close loops.
- Local to the DMV with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (in-person role).
- Deep remodeling experience and selection coordination exposure
- Bid leveling and vendor/sub negotiation experience
- Familiarity with permitting in DC/MD/VA
